Agree with Dick 100%. Besides it is not all about being famous as there are many ways to share your uniqueness. It is about each individual sharing the greatness of their own unique talents to make a better world wherever they live, in what ever way they can...the ripple must begin somewhere. You can't expect the world to embrace your gift if you are not willing to be the mid-wife and take responsibility of "birthing your baby" by learning good business practices, developing self discipline, thus being a good parent to what you have created.

Too often we get all caught up in the comparison of each others talent. We forget that in the flower vase of life, a rose is no more beautiful than an iris...it is all about personal preference in individuals. So if we can see from that perspective we can be joyful for all our fellow artists rejoicing and supporting each other's gifts as we all stand courageously in the vulnerability of being on stage. There is a reason there are many genres within the arts.

Most importantly one must be willing to not be "above" giving your music freely in the beginning as we all need to be of service in some form or another then bring in balance at the appropriate times to charge standing in the fact that your art does have monetary value. Meaning at some point one begins to discern when the service is not in balance with taking care of yourself financially and in other ways. I personally choose 2 events a year to give of my time and talent as I believe that it is very important to be an integral part of your own community.
